Sweet and Sour Pork Chops Recipe

Ingredients

     
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 50 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp honey (optional, NOT for ketogenic diets)
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • A pinch of oregano
  • A pinch of thyme
  • A pinch of basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  • Season the pork chops with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Melt the ghee in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the pork chops and sear on both sides until golden.
  • Transfer the chops to a baking tray and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • In the same skillet used for searing, add the balsamic vinegar, honey, garlic, a pinch of oregano, thyme, basil, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir well over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
  • Once the sauce boils, lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the chops from the oven and toss them with the sauce—do not cook them further.
